There are seven major areas in the Taipei Fish Market. In the aquatics area, there are live fish, frozen fresh, refrigerated fish and processed fish from aqua farms along the coast and off-shore islands. At the aqua ecological exhibit area, there are  all kinds of fish from both salt water and fresh water and hundreds more for the enjoyment of all to see. The fish market is for both education and leisure functions. There is also a rest area and fish gallery providing information for cultures and activities.
